"Before I could release the weight of my sadness and pain, I first had to honour its existence."

Are you looking for someone to trust and confide in, and somewhere where it feels safe to talk, express, and explore? You may have reached a point in your life where you feel that you need help to deal with something, understand it, or come to terms with it. Sometimes, you may not be able to pinpoint the reason behind your sense of unhappiness, or that feeling of being unable to cope. Sometimes, there isn't a name or heading for the way you feel, yet you do have the inkling that now might be the right time to do something about it.
Counselling can offer you that time and space. As a person-centred counsellor, I have a very strong belief in the positive nature of all human beings, and the uniqueness and worth of everyone.
I believe that you are the expert in your own internal world, and you are the only person who can decide what the meaning of your life is, and how you choose to live it. I don't offer advice, but instead, hope to provide a warm and welcoming environment, free from judgement, where we can work together to overcome or become reconciled with whatever it is you're facing.
Counselling can be useful for anyone who wishes to develop a deeper sense of who they are and what they need. We can all at one time or another, find ourselves facing challenges, which may make us feel overwhelmed and powerless. By working together, we can find or build upon your existing resources. These then become firm foundations for healing and new ways for you to move forward.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
Carl Rogers
Couples or relationship counselling provides a safe, supportive space in
which both parties can think about and reflect on their relationship
and its interaction patterns. It can offer an opportunity to explore
feelings and behaviours, and help you to improve your understanding of
how you behave in intimate relationships.
Couples can bring a wide range of issues to counselling such as
communication breakdown, infidelity issues, jealousy, family conflict,
or work-related or financial problems.
I understand that taking the first steps in contacting a therapist for hypnotherapy can be daunting and you’re likely to have thought about your decision for quite a while! Maybe you’ve tried more conventional approaches in the past which haven’t worked for you which has led you to looking for alternatives?
My approach involves working with you and taking time to help you to make the changes you desire. I can use several established techniques such as: CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy, Health Coaching and Mindfulness. When these approaches are combined with hypnosis powerful and longer lasting changes can occur.
Hypnotherapy is a safe, natural and effective therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation, focused attention and suggestion to help you access your subconscious mind. It can support change in thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
During hypnosis you enter a deeply relaxed state, similar to daydreaming, whilst remaining fully in control and aware. Your mind becomes more open to beneficial suggestions and insights, making it easier to address deep rooted issues.
These are some of the areas people come to me for support with:
Craig uses a range of techniques to support clients including coaching often alongside hypnotherapy. However, he can support you just with coaching using the latest in coaching and psychological theory and practical application.
‘Coaching can be used therapeutically using approaches such as neuro linguistic programming (NLP) and motivational interviewing to name two but there are many options to explore.
Recently Craig has also undertaken NHS training to become a Healthy Weight Coach and has completed the IAPT (Instant Access to Psychological Therapy) training module to help people suffering with IBS (irritable Bowel Syndrome) and Long Covid Support.
